Jag Ready to Come homeWe picked Jag up at 10.30am and set off back on the road to Oxford. The first thing you couldn't fail to notice was the smell of wind as we left. So it was windows down until we reached the motorway! Jag settled down after a while and was very alert all the way back home, he didn't sleep until we were 10 mins from home and seemed to take to long journeys without any problems.

Once home we took him out into the garden and of course all he wanted to do was play, rather than have a well deserved toilet break! He was introduced to Shelley and they seemed happy together, Shelley was a little cautious at first but they settled together for a late afternoon nap. Jag was also partly introduced to some of the cats, and proceeded to have a friendly sniff. A few hisses were heard but nothing that raised any alarms. Later in the evening he met the rest of the household and it was like he had been here for years. Everyone just had a quick sniff and carried on about their business.

We allowed both Jag and Shelley to sleep in our bedroom for the first night as we wanted them to bond without the interference of any of the cats and although Shelley is still not sure about his boisterous nature she is happy to bed down with him and relax.

He did have one of those expected puppy toilet breaks in the wrong place but other than that he has settled in wonderfully and that is due to the excellent upbringing he has had in the first 8 weeks of his life.

Right now he sits by my feet while i get on with some work and I have to say it's a pleasure to have him.

Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th

Pleased to say the Jagermeister has settled in wonderfully. Apart from the first day (as expected) we've had no little accidents indoors and he's now even started to make friends with some of the cats.

Vomsaton MarchamHe's eating well and lets us know when he wants to go to the toilet by either nudging us or scratching at the screen door to the garden. Last night we let him sleep in the office/lounge room as this is where he spends most of his time. He was in the room with a couple of cats and Shelley. Despite whining for a little while after we can gone upstairs he soon settled down and made no noise during the night. When we got up this morning, there were no accidents and no problems at all so I think it's fair to say he has settled in well now.

He does try to play with Shelley but she's not that interested at the moment, she's happy to lay with him but not so sure she wants to chase around the garden with him yet. Hopefully that will change in time. However he has made a friend of Tuaca - our Oriental Red stud cat. Although not exactly rolling around and playing together, they have had some moments of friendship and Tuaca seems more than happy to watch Jag throwing his toys around.

Jag is now well and truly settled in and it's amazing to think it's already been 2 weeks since he joined the animal madhouse. We are so thrilled with the way he has found his new home to his liking.

He has started to really grow now as well, today he weighed in at 9.32kg an increase of 2.1kg since he was last weighed at the vets 10 days ago. He had his second vaccination today and will be able to start going out for walks in 2 weeks, which is a good thing as he's starting to get a bit heavy to carry now!

He's eating very well and loves his Weetabix and warm milk in the mornings and we are glad to see that he now eating a lot more of his biscuits as well. He also loves his little Bonio treats that he gets for learning new tricks. We've now managed to get him to sit and wait for his food and he's learning the meaning of 'stay' very well.

He's also made some new friends, although Shelley has not taken to his constant need to play very well (she would rather just sit there and watch!) he's certainly made up for that with our Bengal - Jelli. In fact at the moment the two of them are inseperable as you will see from the recent pics. They are playing like two little kids, which is effectively what they both are.

In addition to Jelli he found Tuaca to be the one he likes to cuddle up with most and it's looks like we will need to get a new bed to accommodate them both!

We've also just ordered a load of toys and teething stuff for him as he seems to be getting to that stage now and we don't fancy having too many chewed shoes around the house.
